Have you ever wanted to design your own fabric, but not sure where to start? Or wanted to try painting and printmaking but just stare at a blank page not knowing where to begin, then this Design Development 8 week evening course at Artspace, Cambridge Artworks is the course for you.

The courses will be covering some simple ways to find inspiration and get started, and then lots of different creative methods to develop your ideas into a fully resolved project or finished outcome. There will be a creative mix of simple drawing, printmaking, painting, collage and paper sculpture with a strong focus on developing your own creative ideas throughout the course.
The course will be in person at Artspace, Cambridge Artworks on Monday evenings 7-9pm for 8 weeks (exc. bank holidays). Basic materials will be provided but you will need to supply materials for your individual project later in the course.
Course dates are Monday April 17th and 24th, May 15th and 22nd, June 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th, 2023.
No classes on the bank holidays May 1st, 8th and 29th 2023.
Founded in 1994, CAMBRIDGE ARTWORKS is an artist-run co-operative of 18 artists’ studios within a former cabinet-maker’s workshop in central Cambridge. In addition to the studios, the building houses CAMBRIDGE ARTSPACE, a small gallery for hire available for exhibitions, workshops and taught courses. Also on the grounds is a bright blue bespoke caravan studio, which is used by visiting artists during our annual summer residencies.
