Electrolysis Courses: Learn How to do Electrolysis

Considering an Electrolysis Course?

If you would like to learn how to do electrolysis, an electrolysis course may be the perfect choice for you. An electrolysis course will teach you all you need to know about doing electrolysis. It can be a great course to do if you are looking to work in the beauty industry. Alternatively, if you are already a beautiful therapist working in a salon, it is an excellent idea to do the course to add to your current skill set. The good news is there are so many electrolysis courses currently available. They offer good flexibility too for those balancing work and study. Electrolysis courses are available in part-time and evening class options.

What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis, in simple terms, is the method of removing individual hairs from the body or face. Today’s medical electrolysis devices destroy the growth centre of the hair with heat or chemical energy. After a very fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle, the hair is removed with tweezers.

Many areas of the body can be treated with electrolysis, including the face, abdomen, breasts, thighs, legs and eyebrows. There are generally no permanent side effects, however, occasionally, a temporary, slight reddening of the skin may occur. Many factors influence the growth of hair, so you will need to return for many electrolysis visits.

The total number of sessions varies from person to person. Most clients will return once a week or every other week as needed. However, the unwanted hair will be gone for good once the series of treatments is complete. Each treatment lasts between 15 minutes and one hour.

What Will I Learn?

You can expect to be provided with a detailed study of the anatomy of the hair and the follicle. In addition, you will explore the causes of superfluous hair both normal and abnormal, and temporary and permanent removal of unwanted hair. You will also learn about the treatment itself. In other words, you will explore electrical epilation of hair by needle to include all suitable body and face areas and you will learn about client consultation and analysis. Also, you will explore the care and maintenance of equipment and advice and aftercare for clients. You will learn about the management of hair growth between treatments and about electrolysis, thermolysis and the blend.

Also, you will explore the contraindications of the treatment and learn about skincare. The course will teach you about electricity in terms of direct and high frequency currents and about electrical components, for example, fuse, capacitor and much more. You can expect to explore the various safety precautions when using electrical equipment. The course will teach you about the atom, care and maintenance of the appliance and you will learn about insulators and conductors. The course will also teach you about hygiene in terms of suitable disposal methods for cotton wool and needles and how to autoclave and the other suitable methods for sterilisation. You will also learn about personal hygiene, the importance of washing your hands and the how to use disposable gloves.
