An eyebrows course is an excellent choice for those wishing to follow a career path in beauty therapy or those currently working as a beauty therapist looking to add to their skillset. Over the last number of years, eyebrow maintenance has grown massively in popularity, therefore, working in the profession, you will get to make a lot of people happy. There are lots of eyebrow courses currently available and they offer good flexibility for those with busy schedules. Eyebrows courses are offered in full-time, part-time and evening class options, in person and online.

About Eyebrow Maintenance

As mentioned above, there are many different techniques beauty therapists offer for people to maintain their eyebrows. The main one is eyebrow waxing which refers to the process of removing unwanted hair surrounding the eyebrows with wax and wax strips. Eyebrow tweezing refers to removing these unwanted hair using tweezers to pull the hair out at the root. The process of eyebrow threading means using thread to pull out unwanted hairs surrounding the eyebrows. Eyebrow tinting and henna dying refers to using dyes to darken the eyebrows to make them stand out more.

Tinting and dying is often desired by clients who have light haired eyebrows. Finally, the one many still may not have heard of, eyebrow lamination helps to give clients a thicker, fuller and more uniform eyebrow shape. The process is essentially a perm which is placed on the eyebrow to make the hairs more uniformed and to enable the brow technician to set the eyebrows into a new shape. They can create arches, extend tails, tame unruly eyebrows and create a fluffy eyebrow look and the hairs will stay in place for clients after the treatment.

What Will I Learn?

Depending on whether your eyebrow course is specific to one technique or it explores all of the above, course content varies. However, you can expect to learn a number of topics and techniques in just about any eyebrow course. Therefore, you will explore client care and client consultation and hygiene and sterilisation of the various treatments. Students will learn about the products they are using, how to patch test clients and about the various treatment contraindications. The course will educate you on the appropriate aftercare, record keeping, insurance and how to price your treatment. You can expect to gain a lot of practical experience of treatments as most eyebrow courses will require a number of practical hours per week working on clients and fellow classmates. Plus, generally speaking, eyebrow courses will supply you with your kit so you do not need to worry about that.

Career Progression

After completing your eyebrow course, you can go on to work as an eyebrow technician. The other option is to progress with other courses in similar areas. For example, doing a beauty therapy course or a nails course to widen your career options.
